The energy, telecommunications, and aviation sectors in Muscat, among other provinces in the country, were affected by a power outage on Monday.
Described as a "partial blackout," the power cuts were announced by the state-run Oman News Agency.
The public services authority reported the outage at 15:13 local time, saying it would be restored within four hours. Authorities have not given a reason for the outage.
On Monday, Muscat's temperatures reached a high of 36 degrees Celsius when power was restored in some areas of the sultanate.
Mina Al Fahal and Sohar industrial complexes were experiencing increased flaring due to the power outage, according to Oman's state-owned energy company OQ.
Operators at Muscat International Airport are expected to be affected by the electricity outage, according to Oman Airports. The telecommunications regulator said services had been affected.
