A woman and her daughter were rescued by Omani rescue teams, but three other family members drowned off Al Sawadi beach in South Al Batina.

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Department (CDAA) rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call about the incident, according to local media reports. However, they were able to rescue the mother and her daughter. Afterward, they recovered the bodies of her husband and their two sons.

During a family picnic on Wednesday, they were swept away by strong tides in the sea.

To prevent tragic accidents, the CDAA urged the public to follow safety guidelines, avoid swimming in undesignated places, and monitor children closely.
