Today, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, in collaboration with the Oman Sail Foundation, formalized a partnership by signing a cooperative program aimed at establishing the Oman Events Centre (OEC).

The inception of OEC emerged from an investment lab organized by the ministry, supported by the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit and the National Programme for Investment and Export Development, known as "Nazdaher."

Tasked with examining potential international sports events to be hosted in the Sultanate of Oman between 2024 and 2030, the Oman Events Centre will work in conjunction with private entities engaged in the sports sector.

Additionally, the OEC will assess proposals for hosting regional and international sports tournaments and events, evaluating their sports, economic, and social benefits. Committed to ensuring the success of these tournaments, the OEC will conduct studies on regulatory requirements in collaboration with international sports bodies overseeing such events.
