As part of ongoing efforts to promote sustainable fishing practices, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources is currently undertaking a survey project to explore the fisheries resources in the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman.

The primary objectives of the project include providing detailed information on fish biomass in Oman's seas, estimating masses, seasonal distribution, and species availability. Additionally, the project aims to offer valuable environmental and physical data that contribute to understanding biodiversity and environmental diversity in the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman.
