Local media reported that 59,030 Omani government school students will receive school supplies and daily meals when schools reopen on September 4.

Oman's Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik has ordered school supplies and meals to be provided to families in need.

Yesterday (Sunday), the Ministry of Finance approved a budget to provide school supplies and daily meals to social insurance and low-income students.

A total of 24,665 students (males and females) will benefit from the scheme, and 34,365 students will benefit from the limited income category, according to the Ministry of Education.

Oman's teachers and non-teaching staff returned to schools yesterday (Sunday) in preparation for next week's start of classes.
