Experts emphasize the need for increased participation of women in Oman's tourism sector, asserting that given the right opportunities, women can showcase their skills in this crucial segment of the economy.

Empowering women in travel and tourism should be a priority, aligning with the goals of the Oman 2040 Vision, which aims to attract more tourists to the Sultanate.

Dr. Hashil Al Mahrouqi, CEO of Omran Group, emphasized the pivotal role of women in the tourism sector during his keynote address, urging the utilization of all available tools to empower them and enable excellence in an industry with untapped potential.

Other speakers echoed the sentiment, encouraging women to contribute more significantly to the tourism industry's professional growth. Dr. Lubna Al-Mazroei, Tourism Investment Manager at Oman Investment Authority (OIA), emphasized the need to have faith in women's abilities to play a crucial role in the sector's development.

The Women in Travel and Tourism Seminar, organized by Al-Safa Press and Publishing, featured seven other women speakers advocating for enhanced roles for women in tourism, highlighting their invaluable contributions to hospitality and the importance of showcasing Oman's culture and heritage to international tourists.

The demand for women tour guides has risen, especially among Arab, Muslim, and international tourists, indicating a need for more women to enter this field. Dr. Rokhshad Tavakoli, an Assistant Professor of Tourism at Sultan Qaboos University, stressed the significance of encouraging more women to become tour guides.

Several speakers emphasized the academic aspect, calling for the preparation of female students as future leaders in the tourism industry. Aaisha Al-Shuaili, Senior Lecturer at Oman Tourism College, highlighted the increasing enrollment of female students in tourism degrees and emphasized the need to empower them for future leadership roles.

Some presenters argued that women can play a crucial role in shaping tourism development and promoting cultural tourism to showcase local heritage and history. Naifeen Al-Bahrani, a Tourism Consultant, highlighted women's qualities, such as patience and attentiveness, suggesting their active participation in the National Strategy to boost tourism numbers in Oman.
