The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has achieved significant milestones aligned with the objectives of Oman 2040 vision. Despite the target of reaching 33,000 hotel rooms by the end of 2025, the ministry's data indicates that the accomplished figure reached 32,371 by the conclusion of September 2023.

In surpassing expectations, the goal for the number of tourists, initially set at 2.5 million by the end of 2023, was exceeded with a total of 2.9 million visitors recorded by the end of October 2023.

Additionally, progress toward the target percentage of the tourism sector's contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices for the year 2025, set at 2.75 percent, was nearly realized in 2022, with the GDP at constant prices for that year reaching approximately 2.4 percent.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is actively employing statistical data in a systematic manner to generate indicators that not only support decision-making in tourism but also contribute to achieving the sector's objectives outlined in Oman Vision 2040.
