The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) secured RO107,417 on behalf of consumers in October 2023, as per the Statistical Indicators Report. This recovery is part of the CPA's ongoing commitment to address consumer complaints and resolve them in line with the regulations outlined in the Consumer Protection Law. Ali Hamad al Hakmani, the Director of the Complaints Department, highlighted the diverse sectors from which these funds were recovered.

These sectors encompass a wide range, including automotive, vehicle repair, electronics, construction, telecommunications, and various service-oriented industries. The complaints that led to these recoveries varied widely, touching on issues such as vehicle paint problems, repair delays, delivery issues, technical defects, and service quality concerns. Notably, the CPA retrieved 114 items during this period, showcasing its dedication to safeguarding consumer rights.

Al Hakmani emphasized the importance of upholding consumer rights, complying with consumer protection laws, and ensuring product adherence to agreed specifications. He stressed the significance of product inspection before sale as a crucial step in guaranteeing consumer satisfaction and compliance with consumer protection regulations. Overall, the CPA's efforts in recovering funds and addressing consumer concerns play a pivotal role in promoting fair business practices and safeguarding consumers in the marketplace.
