The tropical storm is currently situated along the coastal areas of Al Mahra Governorate in Yemen. Oman Meteorology has issued Warning No. 9 for tropical cyclone Tej, indicating the expectation of heavy rainfall and strong winds in the coming hours over the Governorate of Dhofar and the southern regions of Al Wusta.

Wind speeds around the cyclone's center are estimated to range between 34 to 50 knots. The coastal, mountainous, and some desert areas in Dhofar Governorate will continue to experience heavy rainfall, resulting in the flowing of wadis (seasonal riverbeds).

The most significant impact is anticipated to persist in Dhofar and the southern parts of Al Wusta Governorates until this afternoon. This will bring heavy rainfall ranging from 50 to 150 mm, leading to potential flash floods, as well as fresh to very severe gusty winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 50 knots. The sea is expected to be extremely rough, with wave heights ranging from 5 to 8 meters, and there is a risk of sea water inundating low-lying coastal areas.

The Civil Aviation Authority strongly advises everyone to take maximum precautions, avoid crossing wadis, and steer clear of low-lying areas. Additionally, it is recommended to refrain from venturing into the sea
