The South Al Sharqiyah Governorate is experiencing a surge in tourist activity, attracting both local and international travelers during the winter season. Abdullah bin Rashid Al-Hajri, Director of the Heritage and Tourism Department in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, stated that preparations for the winter season included assessments by specialists who visited hotel facilities to ensure the quality of services. The governorate boasts over 100 hotels with a total of 1,634 rooms. Visitors to South Al Sharqiyah Governorate can engage in various activities, including camping on plains and plateaus, fishing, and exploring historical landmarks like the "Fath Al Khair Museum," which narrates the ancient maritime heritage of the Wilayat of Sur. The governorate is also home to castles and forts that bear witness to its rich history.

Al-Hajri highlighted the turtle reserve in Ras Al Jinz, serving as a sanctuary for rare turtle species, including green turtles. Visitors can learn about the life cycle of turtles by exploring the reserve. Additionally, the governorate offers youth projects focused on tourism activities and marine sports. Adventure enthusiasts can partake in mountain activities such as climbing and walking through scenic valleys and towering mountains.
