The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT) has officially initiated a tender for Phase 1 of the Rub al Khali Road dualization project.

According to an announcement from the MTCIT, 'Phase 1 of the Rub al Khali Road dualization project will extend from the Ibri roundabout to the Tanam roundabout, covering an approximate distance of 6km.'

This project will also encompass the construction of various surface intersections, roundabouts, a pedestrian underpass, and service roads on both sides of the road, totaling approximately 10km in length.

Additionally, it will involve the establishment of several rainwater drainage facilities to ensure the road remains accessible under all weather conditions
