On Wednesday, October 25, 2025, a significant number of Omani governorates are poised to experience thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and the potential for hail.

The Governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahira, South Al Batinah, Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Sharqiyah, and South Al Sharqiyah are expected to receive rainfall due to these intense thunderstorms. The heaviest precipitation is anticipated over the Hajar Mountains and surrounding areas, extending towards the coast of the Oman Sea.

In light of these conditions, the Civil Aviation Authority urges everyone to exercise caution during thunderstorms. It is advisable to avoid crossing Wadis (flash floods), steer clear of low-lying areas, and refrain from sailing during the alert period.

Anticipated Effects of the Thunderstorms:

  1. Significant rainfall, with expected accumulations ranging from 20 to 80 mm, may lead to flash floods in Wadis.
  2. Strong downdrafts with speeds ranging from 15 to 40 knots (28-74 km/h).
  3. The possibility of hail.
  4. Reduced horizontal visibility due to dust storms that may occur during the thunderstorms.
