
Today, the National Committee for Emergency Management, chaired by Gen. Hassan Mohsin Al Shuraiqi, the Inspector General of Police and Customs and Chairman of the Committee, held a meeting to assess the preparations for addressing the Tropical Cyclone "Tej."
During the meeting, experts from the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) provided insights into numerical data and potential impacts that may result from the tropical cyclone.
The committee also underscored the precautionary measures implemented across various sectors. It emphasized the continuity of public services, the readiness of shelters, and the assurance of an adequate supply of food and medical resources.
Furthermore, the committee made several decisions, including the evacuation of residents from Al Hallaniyyat Islands and the coastal areas in the Wilayat of Salalah, Rakhyut, and Dhalkut.
Gen. Al Shuraiqi urged all committee members to take the necessary actions to support response operations and ensure the provision of all essential resources and capabilities in areas expected to be affected by the tropical cyclone.
