
In the third quarter of 2023, the total employment rate in Oman reached 87% in both the government and private sectors, as reported by the Ministry of Labor (MoL).
These detailed statistics encompass the outcomes of the implementation of the employment plan for recruiting and replacing individuals in the government sector, with a target number of 10,000, which was surpassed with 13,050 individuals successfully placed. Similarly, in the private sector, the goal was to employ 16,000 people, an achievement of 11,165 individuals.
Regarding training for replacement positions in the government sector, the target number of 2,000 was almost reached, with 1,461 individuals completing the training. In the private sector, a target of 7,000 trainees was set, which included 1,614 individuals in the field of self-employment, and a total of 4,788 successfully completed their training.
It's worth noting that the Ministry of Labor places a high priority on the employment sector in both the public and private domains, fostering a productive partnership with the private sector to create job opportunities for job seekers. This is achieved through national plans that follow a systematic, well-planned approach, in accordance with the directives of the country's leadership.
