The RAK Transport Authority has unveiled the inaugural land trip service today, establishing a connection between Ras Al Khaimah and the Musandam region in the Sultanate of Oman. This service, a result of collaboration between the RAK Transport Authority and the Musandam Governorate, will run on weekends with two daily trips.
Ismail Hassan Al Balushi, the Director General of RAKTA, stated, "This service launch aligns perfectly with the UAE's leadership directives to boost tourism and facilitate the movement of residents and tourists between the two nations."
He further added, "It also corresponds with the RAK Transport Authority's 2023-2027 strategy, which is dedicated to promoting public transportation and endorsing shared mobility as a sustainable, dependable, and secure mode of transportation."
The service embarks from the primary bus station in Ras Al Khaimah, making seven stops along the route before concluding in Khasab, Musandam Governorate. Tickets are affordably priced to cater to a diverse range of community segments, as explained by Mohamed Hashem, the Director of the Quality and Operations Control Department at RAKTA.
RAKTA has worked in tandem with various relevant authorities in the UAE to ensure the seamless operation of this service, thereby reducing travel time for passengers.
To commemorate this launch, Musandam Governorate hosted a reception to welcome the inaugural bus trip service
