Today, Omani citizens have commenced the voting process to determine their representatives for the tenth term in the Shura Council, utilizing the 'Intakheb' application. A total of 843 candidates, which includes 32 women, are vying for the opportunity to secure one of the 90 available council seats.
Voting will remain open until 7 pm today.
The final voter list includes a total of 753,260 registered male and female voters, with an additional 13,843 individuals eligible to cast their ballots from outside the Sultanate of Oman.
The 'Intakheb' application stands out for its user-friendly interface and robust security measures, employing cutting-edge encryption technologies. Voter verification involves three key steps: capturing images of the original ID card from both sides, reading the card data through the NFC feature, and taking a photo of the voter.
Additionally, the application offers valuable numerical statistics, such as voting percentages in various wilayats, demographics by age and gender, and the ability to submit proposals and reports for application users.
