The Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations has uncovered a recent fraudulent scheme directed at young individuals, involving the dissemination of false job offers via SMS.

According to the Royal Oman Police, this deceptive activity entices victims with promises of lucrative online business opportunities in exchange for financial gain through the circulation of fake job announcements. Once funds are transferred to their bank accounts, these amounts are swiftly diverted to offshore accounts using exchange companies.

In response, the Royal Oman Police advises citizens and residents to authenticate the credibility and origins of such announcements and report any suspicions to the relevant authorities.
