It is anticipated that an official holiday is scheduled for Thursday, January 11, 2024, in the Sultanate of Oman, in observance of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik assuming power, as outlined in Royal Decree No. 88/2022.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik had issued Royal Decree No. 88/2022 on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, specifying official holidays. According to Article 1 of the Decree, the following holidays for units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus, public legal entities, and private sector establishments, related to Eids and other occasions, are established as follows:
1.    Hijri New Year’s Day on 1 Muharram.

2.    The Prophet’s Birthday on 12 Rabee Al Awwal.

3.    Al Isra’a Wal Miraj on 27 Rajab.

4.    The National Day on November 18 and 19.

5.    His Majesty the Sultan’s Accession Day on January 11.

In the event that any of the weekly off days coincide with the aforementioned holidays, it will be compensated with a single day off. The dates of these holidays may be subject to amendment if it is deemed in the public interest.
