The Civil Aviation Authority has issued Weather Alert No. (3) regarding the Tropical Storm (Tej) in the Arabian Sea.

The CAA has reported, "Based on the latest satellite images and analysis from the National Centre of Early Warning of Multiple Hazards, the tropical condition continues as a tropical storm, situated approximately 870 km away from the coast of the Sultanate of Oman. It is currently centered in the southwest of the Arabian Sea at a latitude of 10 degrees north and a longitude of 58.53 degrees east. The estimated wind speed around the storm's center ranges from 50 to 63 knots, with the nearest accompanying rain cloud mass located about 600 km away from the wilayat of Sadah.

The forecasts suggest that the storm will continue to move in a west-northwest direction towards the coasts of the Dhofar Governorate and the sister Republic of Yemen (Al-Mahra Governorate). There is a possibility of it intensifying into a first-degree tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.

The direct impact on the Dhofar and Al-Wusta Governorates is expected to commence on the evening of Sunday, October 22, with the potential for the storm's center to cross the area on Tuesday, affecting both the Dhofar Governorate and Yemen (Al-Mahra Governorate).
