Over the past four days of the 53rd National Day holiday, the Wilayats of North Al Sharqiyah Governorate have experienced a significant surge in tourist arrivals.

In the Wilayat of Bidyah, visitors immersed themselves in various activities amidst the sand dunes, including the endurance Arabian Camel Race, Al Ardha camel show, group camping, sand dune trekking, and camel riding.

Wadi Bani Khalid, another wilayat, attracted a substantial number of visitors, particularly to its lake areas. Active tourism movements were observed in the Wilayats of Ibra, Al Mudhaibi, Dima Wal Ta’ein, Al Qabil, and Sinaw, with a total of 12,774 visitors from both within and outside the wilayats.

Tourists explored diverse landmarks, wadis, water springs, forts, castles, and old souqs in these wilayats.

Sumaia bint Hamad Al Busaidi, Director of the Heritage and Tourism Department in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, highlighted collaborative efforts with various sectors to enhance the tourism sector, especially during holidays. This involved organizing seasonal activities related to desert, mountain, and water adventure tourism.

The tourism season in North Al Sharqiyah displayed positive indicators, including revenue growth and hotel room occupancy ranging from 60 to 90 percent. The governorate boasts 47 licensed hotel establishments offering a total of 1,044 hotel rooms.
