Wildlife protection officials arrested a group of people who hunted a number of wild birds and deer in Dhofar Governorate.

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs said in a statement: "In two separate incidents, wildlife monitors at the General Directorate of Environment and Climate Affairs in Dhofar Governorate, in cooperation with Royal Oman Police, arrested a group of people who hunted a number of wild birds and deer in the state of Thumrait, where they were referred for investigation and legal action to be taken against them."

"The Ministry calls upon everyone to cooperate and report on violators of wildlife protection rules and the ministry is continuing to take all legal measures against violators without any complacency," the statement said.
