
The Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with the Royal Oman Police and the Ministry of Social Development, has detained 15 expatriates in Dhofar Governorate for violating Labour Law provisions. In a statement, the Ministry of Labour, represented by the Office of the Joint Inspection Team at the General Directorate of Labour in Dhofar Governorate, announced the enforcement of an inspection campaign targeting street vendors and beggars among the expatriate workforce in the governorate. Fifteen workers were arrested for non-compliance with legal provisions, and the Ministry affirmed that appropriate legal measures are being taken against the offenders.
In a separate incident, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) apprehended two individuals for illegally entering the Sultanate of Oman and smuggling over 45 kilograms of hashish and 14 kilograms of crystal drugs. The Coast Guard Police in the South Al Batinah Governorate carried out the arrest of two individuals of Asian nationality on charges of smuggling the mentioned quantities of drugs and entering the country without proper authorization. ROP stated that legal procedures have been completed against the apprehended individuals.
