Four individuals have been sentenced to six months in prison and fined OMR 1,000 for hunting and killing an Arabian gazelle in Dhofar Governorate.

The Court of Appeal in Salalah delivered a verdict, finding the defendants guilty of the misdemeanor of hunting and killing an Arabian gazelle in Dhofar Governorate. The ruling mandates six months of imprisonment, a fine of OMR 1,000, and the confiscation of seized items for all four defendants.

The second defendant faced convictions for bird hunting, receiving a three-month prison sentence, and for possessing conventional weapons without the required license from authorities, resulting in an additional one-month prison term—the most severe penalties among the defendants.

The Environment Authority emphasizes the importance of preserving wildlife and refraining from exploitation to avoid legal consequences.
