The courts of first instance in various governorates have issued a number of criminal judgments against violators of the decisions of the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19 during the period from 8th November to 12th November

A statement issued online by Public Prosecution said: "The courts of first instance in the governorates of (Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Batinah, and South Al Sharqiyah) during the period from 8th to 12th November 2020 have issued a number of criminal judgments against violators of the decisions of the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19."

"The Public Prosecution began investigating 12 defendants who violated the decisions of the Supreme Committee to prevent movement and for gathering and not adhering to the home quarantine. Accordingly they were referred to the competent courts, and sentences were issued against them ranging between three months imprisonment and a fine of OMR 1000 with deportation of the foreign accused from the country."

The Public Prosecution has published the names and photos of those who violated the decisions.
