
Two persons have been arrested by the police for stealing cash from vehicles in two separate incidents.
The Royal Oman Police said: "South Al Sharqiyah Police Command, in cooperation with the Crime Prevention Department, arrested a person accused of stealing cash from a vehicle while he was moving along with the victim in his car in Sur."
"The accused stole the envelope containing a large sum of money when the victim got off the vehicle. The police managed to track and arrest the accused in South Al Batinah Governorate," the ROP added.
In another incident, the South Sharqiyah Police Command arrested a person of Arab nationality for stealing money and a mobile phone from a vehicle after its driver had stopped his vehicle at a public place in the wilayat of Sur. Legal proceedings are being taken against the two accused.
The Royal Oman Police advises drivers not to leave cash and valuables inside their vehicles, while getting off to avoid being stolen.
