The field hospital, with a capacity of 300 beds, will start by the end of September or at the beginning of October. 

His Excellency Dr Mohammed Al Hosni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs said, "We hoped that the field hospital will start by the end of September or at the beginning of October, and this hospital will be one of the tools to restore health services in other hospitals."

The number of beds at the hospital is 312 and in its first stage, it will be 100 beds. There is also accommodation place with a capacity of 324 beds, which can be converted into a hospital if the need arises in the future."

He stressed, "The hospital will not receive patients directly. Rather, cases are referred to it from health centres and from the rest of the hospitals, and it will be for cases that need moderate care and not for critical cases. Critical cases in the field hospital will be transferred to reference hospitals by the ambulance. We hope by opening this hospital, it will reduce the burden on the reference hospitals in the Governorate of Muscat and other nearby governorates."
