
More than 100 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in the GCC countries, and the Sultanate of Oman ranks first in the recovery rate from COVID-19, which has reached 93.4 per cent, according to statistics issued by the Gulf Statistics Centre.
The report indicated that the total number of vaccines against the COVID-19 given in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council amounted to 102 million doses, while the recovery rate reached 91.7 per cent.
The report added that the Covid-19 severity index in the current period in the region is 24.2, which is at an average level, and the data indicated that the State of Kuwait is the highest in the number of daily cases recorded, reaching 6515 within 24 hours, followed by Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and then the Emirates, Oman and Qatar, respectively.
Regarding the number of deaths, the statistics issued by the Gulf Statistics Centre showed that on January 27, 2021, 12 deaths were recorded among those infected with Covid-19 in the Gulf countries, four of them in the UAE, two deaths in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and one case in Oman and Kuwait.
