A'Sharqiyah University has entered into two agreements with private sector entities to facilitate the provision of solar energy and the construction of student housing units, with a total value of OMR 7.8 million.

The first agreement focuses on the design, supply, installation, and connection of a 980-kilowatt solar energy facility, estimated to cost OMR 350,000. This initiative is anticipated to result in a reduction of 1818 tonnes of carbon emissions.

The second agreement, valued at OMR 7.5 million, pertains to the construction of four student housing units, each comprising 132 rooms. The combined capacity of these units will accommodate over 1,600 students.
