Citizens successfully carried out the evacuation of a crew from a ship that ignited in the territorial waters of the Sultanate of Oman, while the vessel was in transit to the Republic of Somalia.

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) reported: "A vessel caught fire in the territorial waters of the Sultanate of Oman, off the coast of Hasik Niyabat in Dhofar Governorate. Loaded with a cargo of goods, the ship was en route to the Republic of Somalia. The crew, comprising 11 individuals of Indian nationality, was safely evacuated by local citizens. All crew members were in good health, with one sustaining a minor injury, and were promptly transported for necessary medical treatment.
