Duqm Refinery and Oman Sail have teamed up once again to relaunch the Al Nokhedha initiative for 2023. This initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labor, is focused on imparting valuable skills to youth, particularly students in grades 10 and 11, as well as Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The goal is to equip Oman's youth with essential leadership tools that will prepare them for a successful future.
Jasim Hassan Al Ajmi, Head of Corporate Identity & Culture at Duqm Refinery, emphasized their commitment to supporting the community and empowering young individuals and SMEs. He stated that the program's skills can foster an environment where creative minds thrive and adapt to the evolving needs of national and global economies.
Khamis Al Anbouri, Oman Sail's Commercial Director, expressed their delight in partnering with Duqm Refinery to organize another edition of the Al Nokhedha Initiative. He highlighted the positive impact of leadership programs on young people across the nation and the benefits of sharing these techniques with soon-to-graduate students. Al Nokhedha aims to instill a positive mindset and provide essential skills for successful careers.
The Al Nokhedha Initiative will be delivered to 100 students over three days, focusing on self-leadership, communication, decision-making, teamwork, team leadership, and resilience through practical examples and discussions to prepare Omani students for their future endeavors.
The initiative's second phase caters to the needs of SMEs, aiming to support their growth and adaptability in a changing market. Twenty SMEs will participate in a two-day course that equips them with skills to navigate market changes, develop strategies for long-term growth, and build resilience.
The Al Nokhedha initiative was initially launched in 2018, benefiting 50 participants, including grade 11 students in Duqm. Its success led to subsequent editions, with 50 grade 11 students in Mussanah in 2019, providing important skills to aid them after graduation.
