On Sunday, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued two Royal Decrees.

Royal Decree No. 78/2023 pertains to the administration of oaths. Article 1 specifies that, except for the oath taken before the Sultan, members of the State Council, Majlis A’Shura, and judges will now take oaths by signing a written oath with the following content: "In the name of Allah, the Almighty, I solemnly swear to uphold the Basic Law of the State, adhere to the laws and regulations in force, faithfully, honestly, and honorably carry out my responsibilities, safeguard public funds, and maintain the dignity, integrity, and confidentiality of my profession." Additionally, all employees of the state's Administrative Apparatus and other public legal entities are required to sign this oath before assuming their duties. Article 2 annuls any provisions that are inconsistent with this decree. Article 3 specifies that the decree will be published in the Official Gazette and take effect from the day following its publication.

Royal Decree No. 79/2023 ratifies an agreement between the government of the Sultanate of Oman and the government of the Slovak Republic regarding mutual visa waivers for holders of diplomatic, special, and service passports. This agreement, signed in New York on September 21, 2023, is ratified as per the version attached to this decree. Article 2 declares that the decree will be published in the Official Gazette and will be in effect from the date of issuance.
