His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Phillippe Leopold Louis Marie, King of the Belgians held at Al Alam Palace today an official session of talks.
The talks reviewed the good relations binding the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Belgium. The talks also touched on the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in various spheres which serve the interest of the Omani and Belgian friendly peoples. They also exchanged views on several matters and topics of common interest.
The talks session was attended from the Omani side by HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, HH Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy, Minister of Energy and Minerals (Head of the Mission of Honour), Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidi, Chairman of OPAZ, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA) and Najeem bin Sulaiman Al Abri, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Belgium.
The talks session was attended from the Belgian side by Mathilde Marie Christine Ghislaine d’Udekem d’Acoz, Queen of the Belgians, Sophie Wilmès, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Tinne Van der Straeten, Minister of Energy, Pol De Witte, Secretary General of the Household of the King of the Belgians, Jeroen Cooreman, Director-General for Bilateral Affairs, Machteld Fostier, Secretary to the Queen of the Belgians and Dominque Minior, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Sultanate of Oman.
Afterwards, His Majesty the Sultan and the King of the Belgians held a closed-door meeting.
