The International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation will engage in discussions regarding the Sultanate of Oman's recent macroeconomic developments and future prospects. This includes a comprehensive examination of fiscal and monetary policies and the government's actions to address economic and financial challenges on both regional and global levels.
The visit's primary focus is to monitor potential risks that may pose threats to financial stability. During this visit, IMF experts will hold meetings with various officials from the Central Bank of Oman, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, as well as several public authorities, government entities, civil society institutions, and private sector representatives.
These meetings will facilitate a thorough assessment of the economic and financial landscape within the Sultanate of Oman. The IMF's Article IV consultation visit is scheduled to occur from November 1 to 15, 2023, hosted by the Sultanate of Oman in collaboration with the Central Bank of Oman and the Ministry of Finance.
These discussions continue the work initiated by the IMF team during their preparatory visit, which took place from June 6 to 14, 2023.
