On Monday, Sayyid Hamoud Faisal al Busaidi, the Minister of Interior, unveiled the second iteration of the AI-driven "Intakhib" (Elect) App, in the presence of Dr. Laila Ahmed al Najjar, the Minister of Social Development, and other officials involved in the electoral procedure.

The application will be utilized for electronic voting in the upcoming Majlis A'Shura elections scheduled for October 29.

The Ministry of Interior has disclosed that there are 753,690 registered voters, of which 362,844 are women.

The newly introduced version, incorporating advanced AI technologies, is designed to cater to individuals with visual and hearing impairments, including those who are deaf or blind.

It streamlines the voting process by offering sign language assistance for individuals with hearing impairments and audio readings for individuals with visual impairments.

The Minister of Social Development expressed her congratulations, stating, 'We congratulate the Ministry of Interior and its partner agencies for launching the second version of the "Intakhib" application. Its new features greatly facilitate the voting process for individuals with disabilities, marking a unique achievement for the Sultanate.'

Dr. Ali bin Amer al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Technology, and Information Technology for Communications, highlighted that the AI-powered App will provide a comprehensive statistical and graphical overview of the electoral process.
