The Sultanate's production of shrimp in 2019 has reached more than 800 tonnes. 

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said, "The Sultanate's production of shrimp in 2019 amounted to about 863 tonnes, which came through the artisanal fishing sector, of which 183 tonnes were from the fisheries of Al Sharqiyah South Governorate and 680 tonnes from Al Wusta Governorate, with a total value of about OMR 3 million."

The Director of the Fisheries Department in Al Wusta Governorate explained to the Oman News Agency that, "Shrimp prices at the beginning of the season this year ranged between OMR 3 and 800 baisas to OMR 4  and he expected that October and November would witness more quantities of shrimp, especially in the Wilayat Duqm, Mahout and Masirah," the statement added.
