In a strategic move aimed at establishing itself as a prominent player in the global tourism arena, the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, is gearing up to participate in the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2023, commencing on Monday. This three-day event is a renowned international tourism gathering.

The Omani delegation, led by H.E. Azzan al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Tourism in the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, is actively preparing to showcase Oman's distinctive tourism offerings. Oman's pavilion will host a diverse array of government and private stakeholders, underscoring the collaborative efforts aimed at advancing tourism.

WTM London serves as a platform for Oman to shine a spotlight on its diverse and captivating tourism attractions while engaging with global leaders in the tourism industry to address sectoral advancements and cultivate strategic partnerships. H.E. Azzan al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Tourism in the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, expressed the importance of this opportunity for Oman.

Oman's pavilion at WTM London will feature 26 tourism and hotel entities, including the Oman Botanical Garden, Omran Group, Oman Airports Company, National Travel Operator (Visit Oman), various hoteliers, travel agencies, and small and medium-sized enterprises, in addition to the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit.

H.E. Busaidi outlined the ministry's mission to boost the tourism sector's contribution to GDP, generate employment opportunities, and create avenues for investment, all while showcasing Oman's rich cultural heritage. He emphasized the strategy of expanding international engagement to highlight the strengths of the tourism sector and offer significant tourism and hospitality entities opportunities to establish global partnerships.

This year's comprehensive presentation at WTM underscores the unified efforts to achieve Oman's participation objectives in global forums, ensuring that even small and medium-sized enterprises play a role in strengthening the economic sector.

Dr. Hashel bin Obaid al Mahrouqi, CEO of Omran Group, emphasized the importance of such exhibitions in advancing Oman's tourism industry and exploring new investment opportunities. He stated, "Our participation underscores our commitment to enhancing the Sultanate's tourism infrastructure and attracting international investments to diversify and enhance our tourism products."

WTM London 2023 is expected to draw over 35,000 professionals from more than 155 countries and 4,000 entities. The event will host 75 conferences and discussions, along with opportunities for direct networking.
