Oman Signs MoU With Mauritania During Visit By Delegation

 The Sultanate and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of historical documentation, records and archives management.  

A statement issued online by the Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "The MoU was signed by Dr. Hamad Mohammed Al-Dhawyani, Chairman of the National Records and Archives Authority (NRAA) and Dr. Mohammed Al Mukhtar, Director of National Records of Mauritania. Signing the MoU came within the framework of the current official visit of a Mauritanian delegation headed by Dr. Is’haq Said Syed Al-Amin, Assistant Secretary-General of the Mauritanian Government."

ONA further said, "This memorandum reflects the desire of the two countries to strengthen and develop cooperation in the fields of records and archives to serve the mutual interests. In addition, signing such memorandums reflects the efforts of the National Records and Archives Authority to establish an integrated system of cooperation with institutions at the local and international level in order to contribute and support its approach and achieve its vision."

"The memorandum includes cooperation on projects like encouraging cooperation in the field of copying records, printing and exchanging manuscripts and books, preserving and maintaining documentary records and accompanying technologies and cooperation in the field of publishing documentary, cultural, literary and historical publications along with organising various activities."

"The memorandum also highlights encouraging participation in conferences, exhibitions and workshops in the field of records and archive management, enhancing the exchange of experiences, providing training for staff, and conducting scientific research," the statement added.
