At least 1,000 citizens have been employed in medical and paramedical specialties, as well as administrative jobs from January 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).

"Within the framework of the Ministry of Health’s keenness to recruit qualified national cadres, the ministry employed 1,036 citizens until September 30, 2021. Appointments included medical and paramedical specialties, as well as administrative jobs. 176 people were appointed from the category of administrative and technical jobs (engineering and computer), 117 as doctors, and 133 for medical assistant jobs," the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in a statement.

This comes within the framework of the national efforts to employ a national workforce in various health institutions in the Sultanate, in implementation of the high directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik. Among the efforts exerted and in coordination with the Ministry of Labour, 610 persons were appointed for the same period within the employment related training project. This programme aims to train the national workforce to replace expatriates.

These appointments come out of the ministry’s responsibility towards Omanisation of jobs in several sectors, and has reached 100 per cent in a number of specialisations.
