With an investment of about OMR 155 million, the Ibri Solar Power Plant will be inaugurated on Monday.
In line with Oman’s 2040 vision, the project is part of investing in available opportunities and protect the country’s natural resources.
The plant is the first station to be connected to the main electricity network in the Sultanate of Oman, and it produces 500 megawatts, enough to supply electricity to about 50,000 homes.
Engineer Yaqoub bin Saif Al Kiyumi, CEO of the Oman Energy and Water Procurement Company, pointed out that the Ibri solar power plant project is in the interest of the national priorities set by Oman Vision 2040, which are environmental conservation, exploitation of natural resources, governorate development and the involvement of the private sector.
