The OQ Group will celebrate next Sunday the launch of operations at the OQ Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plant in Salalah, Dhofar Governorate with a total investment value of approximately OMR 318 million.

"It is the first of its kind plant to process gas in the Sultanate of Oman, with a total investment value of approximately OMR 318 million," a statement issued online by the Oman News Agency (ONA), said.

The plant, which was built according to the highest standards of safety and technical quality, consists of a facility for extracting and assembling various petroleum gas components such as "propane", "butane" and other condensates, as well as a cracking facility, tanks, shipping facilities and a link pipeline system.

The plant has a gas processing capacity of about 8 million standard cubic meters per day of light gas and will produce about 304 kilotons per year of LPG products consisting of 155 kilotons per year of “propane” (C3) and 111 kilotons of “butane” (C4) and 38 kilotons of condensate (C5+).
