Pact Signed For RO 60m Yenkit Hills Tourism Project

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has signed an agreement worth more than OMR60 million for the Yenkit Hills tourism project. It will be completed in three phases and construction work is expected to begin in 2022. 

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and Qurm Stone Development Company have signed an agreement to establish the Yenkit Hills tourism project, which will be built in the Yenkit area of the Governorate of Muscat.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Heritage and Tourism Salim bin Mohammed bin Said Al-Mahrouqi and His Highness Dr. Al Khattab bin Ghaleb Al Said, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors from the Qurm Stone Development Company in the presence of a number of officials from the ministry and Qurm Stone Development Company.

The project will be built on a 500,000 square metres plot and will be completed in three phases.

The first phase will include the establishment of a 5-star resort with 90 rooms and suites, including all the required facilities, while the second phase will have 122 housing units comprising a high-end tourism complex of various sizes with all the services, in addition to a commercial complex with a panoramic view to serve the project and the region.

The third phase includes the establishment of a five-star hotel, containing 150 rooms and suites, in addition to 50 hotel apartments with 5-star facilities.

The project will highlight the tourism potential of the Yenkit region, which is characterised by stunning views of Sea of Oman and Al Khairan area in the Wilayat of Muscat.

According to the project’s operational plan, construction work is expected to begin in 2022, and all phases will be completed by 2026.

 On the occasion of the signing of the agreement, His Highness Dr. Al Khattab bin Ghaleb Al Said, added: “The signing of this agreement comes from our belief in the importance of tourism sector in the growth of country, the development and strengthening of various sectors. It will help build a renewed renaissance in line with Oman Vision 2040, under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, may God protect him.”

He confirmed that the pivotal role of the Oman Vision 2040 will be on attracting investments in the tourism sector, as it is an important part of the national economy and one of the pillars of economic growth which will help in providing job opportunities for youth.

He said that this project would provide job opportunities to Omani youth and businesses opportunities to small and medium enterprises.

Qurm Stone Development Company is a 100% Omani company that carries out a number of businesses in the field of road construction, digging, filling and levelling of land, in addition to real estate and tourism development, and commercial operation.
