A meeting was held at the office of the Wali of Muttrah to discuss the status of old houses and those which have almost collapsed in the villages of the wilayat.  

The meeting was held in the presence of Sayyid Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Deputy Wali of Muttrah and a number of officials from the Royal Oman Police, the Ministry of Health, Muscat Municipality and the Ministry of Social Development.

They discussed the status of deserted houses in the Wilayat of Muttrah, which are difficult to renovate or accommodate and the status of old houses occupied by families of limited income groups and those under the social security umbrella.

The meeting recommended conducting a technical, social and economic study to renovate these houses or to implement the outcomes/recommendations of the same study to be conducted by the Ministry of Social Development and Muscat Municipality.

The meeting also discussed the latest developments of COVID-19 pandemic, the role of the society in the Wilayat to this effect and implementation of all precautionary measures and controls endorsed by the COVID-19 Supreme Committee to mitigate the spread of the virus.
