Dr Said bin Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy, issued a decision (No. 148/2020) stipulating the formation of a working team to devise policies and programmes that support methods for stimulating the national economy.

Under the supervision of Dr Nasser bin Rashid Al Ma’awali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, the team will have members representing the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of Oman, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Tax Authority, the 'Tawazun' programme, the State Council, the Majlis A’Shura, a cognitive support team of the Ministry of Economy and a number of experts, specialists and academicians.

The team will propose policies and economic programmes to activate the national economy and macro-economy under the circumstances posed by COVID-19 pandemic.
