The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced the anticipation of heavy rainfall in specific regions of Oman beginning on Monday. According to the latest weather maps and analysis from the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre, heavy rains are expected from the afternoon until late evening in South Batinah, Muscat, Dakhliyah, North Sharqiyah, and South Sharqiyah.

Thunderstorms are likely to be concentrated in the Hajar Mountains and surrounding areas, extending towards the coasts of the Sea of Oman. The CAA mentioned that isolated rainfalls ranging from 15-30mm may lead to wadi overflows, while the Arabian Sea along the coast is expected to be moderately rough, with waves reaching a maximum height of 3 meters.

Following the rain forecast on Sunday evening, the governorates of Musandam and North Batinah experienced moderate to heavy rains, resulting in the flooding of several wadis. Varied levels of rainfall were observed in locations such as Shinas, Liwa, Sohar, and Saham in North Batinah.

The Directorate General of Meteorology has issued advisories urging people to avoid low-lying areas and wadis, discouraging swimming or attempting to cross them to ensure personal safety. Additionally, they have recommended keeping children away from ponds and wadis during rainy conditions.
