The General Directorate of Consumer Protection (CPA) in North Al Batinah Governorate has taken a significant measure by temporarily shutting down a travel and tourism business based on a court order.

This action was prompted by numerous complaints filed against the establishment, primarily due to its failure to adhere to standards of transparency, reliability, and the provision of services in accordance with agreed terms.

These complaints centered on consumers who had engaged with the establishment to purchase travel tickets. Unfortunately, it was discovered that the tickets provided were fraudulent, and the reservations were not genuine. Moreover, the establishment failed to follow through on visa issuance and the execution of agreements, resulting in significant delays in reimbursing some consumers for canceled tickets. Additionally, the establishment declined to issue final tickets to others.

In response to these grievances, the General Directorate of Consumer Protection in North Al Batinah Governorate conducted a thorough investigation, which subsequently led to the matter being referred to the Public Prosecution. In response, the Public Prosecution issued a judicial order to temporarily close the establishment and suspend its operations until the ongoing legal cases against it are resolved.
