The Ministry of Interior has launched the second iteration of the electronic voting application for elections, known as 'Intakhib' (Elect). This application enables voters to cast their ballots for candidates who will represent them in the Shura Council during the Tenth Term.

According to Sayyid Hamoud, the Ministry of Interior is actively progressing toward the digitization of all its services and programs as part of a digital transformation plan that leverages advanced technologies. This initiative ensures the implementation of the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, which, in turn, has a positive impact on citizen services and simplifies the engagement of both candidates and voters.

In the same vein, the Ministry of Interior conducted a media briefing to illustrate the role of artificial intelligence technology previously integrated to serve individuals with visual impairments, including the blind. The application introduced an audio guidance feature for voting instructions and, subsequently, sign language for the deaf and mute community on an optional basis.

Abdul-Rahman Ali Al Hinai, the Director of the electronic voting project 'Intakhib,' explained that the VoiceOver feature designed for the blind commences from the initial step of logging into the application and entering the ID card number, continuing through the process until the voter selects a candidate and confirms their vote.

Al Hinai emphasized that the procedure for capturing a voter's personal photo has been expedited in the new version, particularly after the inclusion of eye recognition technology for visually impaired individuals. This feature enables them to exercise their voting rights and select their preferred candidates with the assistance of an audio guide that reads a file containing the names of candidates from the voter's constituency
