The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has successfully concluded a series of mobile promotional workshops aimed at introducing and showcasing the heritage and tourism offerings of Oman in the Gulf market. These workshops were initially launched in Kuwait and subsequently extended to Qatar and Bahrain.

The event was graced by the presence of Sheikh Salem bin Muslim Al Kathiri, Head of the Sultanate of Oman Commercial Office in Dubai.

The primary objective of these promotional workshops in the Gulf market was to align with the Ministry's tourism strategy, which focuses on positioning Oman as a multifaceted destination encompassing heritage, beach, mountain, and cultural experiences. Additionally, the strategy emphasizes the promotion of adventure tourism, a growing trend worldwide.

The Ministry has been actively collaborating with various stakeholders in the tourism sector to forge new relationships and contacts with holiday service providers from emerging markets. It also seeks to introduce new tourism and heritage projects, as well as highlight significant tourist destinations.

Participants in these promotional workshops commended the event's success and the concerted efforts to elevate Oman's tourism sector. Tourism companies and institutions showcased a wide range of services and tourism programs to visitors while also discussing opportunities for collaboration and partnership in various tourism segments to enhance the sector's competitiveness.

Abbas Al Farsi, Sales Manager at Atana Hotels, commented on their participation, stating, "Our involvement in promotional workshops with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism across several Gulf cities is part of the Ministry’s initiative to boost the travel market and related sectors. We hope that these endeavors will continue to positively impact the tourism sector. We are particularly focusing on the Gulf market due to its status as the largest source of tourists for Oman, and these events provide an excellent platform due to the substantial presence of Gulf companies and travel agents."

Mohammed Al Habsi, Chief Business Developer and Responsible for the GCC Market at the National Travel Operator “VisitOman,” expressed his satisfaction with their participation in the promotional workshops in GCC markets. He emphasized the goal of attracting more tourists from the Gulf market through collaboration with tour operators and travel agencies in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. VisitOman leveraged the opportunity to showcase its digital booking platform, Visitoman.om, which offers a wide array of tourism services, including transportation, accommodation, tours, excursions, and facilities suitable for institutions and companies.

Moataz bin Muslim Saleh Al Maawali, Head of Operations and Logistics Department at Safari International Travel & Tourism Company, highlighted the significance of these workshops in promoting Omani tourism. He expressed optimism about developing relationships with tourism companies interested in promoting Oman's natural beauty and rich history. His company provides a comprehensive range of services to tourists, including hotel accommodation, guided tours, camping, fishing services, and more.
