Between January 1 and September 14, a total of 1,700 hotel rooms were made available through the opening of 82 new facilities in the Sultanate. In the upcoming last quarter of the year, there are exciting projects set to launch, starting with the luxurious 5-star St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Hotel, featuring 71 rooms, followed by the Four Seasons Resorts and Private Residences, Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Muscat, and the Mandarin Oriental Muscat.

As of the end of August 2023, the revenues of 3 to 5-star hotels in Oman reached 138 million, marking a significant 26.3 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022. The number of guests also surged by 27 percent, totaling 1.3 million by the end of last August, compared to the corresponding period in 2022.

The overall visitor count to the Sultanate of Oman from January to August 2023 was 2.6 million visitors, demonstrating a substantial increase of 48.1 percent compared to the same period in 2022, with 1.1 million visitors originating from GCC states.

From October 1 to 5, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) is conducting promotional roadshows in various GCC states, featuring the participation of 15 local companies.

It's worth noting that the winter season holds special appeal for tourism in the Sultanate of Oman, offering ideal conditions for outdoor activities such as exploring coastlines, deserts, mountains, wadis, and more.
