There has been a growth of 34.3 per cent in produce by traditional fishing methods in Oman till the end of June 2020, compared to the same period last year, the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) revealed.

A statement issued online by the NCSI said, "358.3 thousand tons of fish landed by traditional fishery methods in Oman by the end of June 2020, an increase of 34.3 per cent compared to same period in 2019."

"OMR 160.8 million is the total value of fish landed by traditional fishery in the Sultanate by the end of June 2020, with an increase of 17.4% compared to the same period of 2019," the statement added.
